The brief
Siemens wanted to show how overall equipment effectiveness and failure prediction connect, on a trade show floor.
Rather than a standard single-user presentation, Mersus proposed a multi-user virtual environment with no geographic limits.
The solution: a shared virtual plant
Each participant is represented by an avatar with real-time head and hand tracking and lip-synced speech, so it feels like a conversation, not a presentation. A salesperson in Dublin and a customer in Tokyo could share the same space at the same time.
With Siemens, Mersus chose a screener machine from the asphalt industry as the centrepiece. The experience shows how screen blockage gradually increases power consumption and waste until the machine breaks down, making the case for predictive maintenance.
The results
Mersus Technologies have enabled Siemens to engage our customers globally regardless of their geographic location. The Mersus team actively engaged in understanding our requirements throughout the development process.
