What new operators learn

  1. Line overviewThe machine, hopper, conveyor and controls, and what each one does, including how material is fed from the hopper into the barrel.
  2. StartupThe inspection and the startup sequence before the first cycle, including checking the work area and bringing the barrel up to temperature.
  3. Control panel in manualThe buttons and screens they will use on shift, and how to switch between the machine’s operating modes.
  4. Purge outClearing material from the barrel safely before a change or a shutdown, with the purged material caught in the purge bin.
  5. Controlled and emergency shutdownPreparing the machine for a controlled shutdown, and when and how to use the emergency stop.

Built with moulders

Denroy case study

It takes out the fear of walking onto a shop floor, especially if you aren’t used to working with the machinery.

Catherine Dynes, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Denroy

The first injection moulding course was built with First Polymer Training Skillnet, and its content is shaped with moulders such as Denroy.

What comes next

  1. Machine Parameters

When new operators are confident on the machine, Injection Moulding 02 takes setters and process technicians into shot size, injection speed, holding pressure and cooling time.

  2. Try it

Set up a Meta Quest, download Avatar Academy from the Meta Store, and we open a trial with the courses that suit you.

  3. Roll it out

Off the shelf, live in hours with support included. Or have your own procedures simulated, typically in 6 to 16 weeks.

What buyers ask us

Who is this course for?

New starters on injection moulding machines, before their first shift on a live press. Setters and process technicians usually go on to Machine Parameters.

Which headsets does it run on?

The courses are compatible with the Meta Quest line. We can supply the headsets, or you can use your own.

How is it licensed?

One annual site licence covers unlimited operators on that site, so the cost does not grow with every new starter. See how licensing works.

What languages is the course in?

English.

Will operators feel motion sick?

The courses run at a steady 72 frames per second and operators use their own hands, both chosen to keep motion sickness to a minimum.

Does VR training replace our own sign-off?

No. Avatar Academy records every exam attempt as evidence before your own sign-off. Your sign-off process stays yours.
